LTWD Board President Emily McMurtrey - Ward 4

Emily McMurtrey lives in Berthoud with her two children and a lively herd of sixty goats. She serves as a Water Resources Project Manager for the City of Boulder, where she oversees the city’s raw water leasing program. In addition to her municipal role, Emily owns and operates Mutton Mowers, a commercial goat grazing business specializing in sustainable land management.

With over a decade of experience in natural resource management, Emily brings expertise in water resources, water rights, agriculture, land management, weed mitigation, and targeted grazing. Her passion lies in collaborating with communities and professionals to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges. She also serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the South Ledge Ditch Company and as a Director on the Larimer County Fair Board.

In her free time, Emily enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.

Personal goals for the District:

  • Uphold the Little Thompson Water District’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and great-tasting water at a fair price.
  • Support strategic investments and planning to ensure this commitment remains strong for current and future customers.
  • Advocate for long-term water resource planning and diversification of LTWD’s water portfolio.
  • Champion fair policies and a supportive work environment for LTWD staff.
