Our Service Area

Little Thompson Water District is a quasi-municipal corporation and a political subdivision of the State of Colorado formed by decree in 1961. It was created to provide water facilities and services for the residents within its boundaries. In 1962, LTWD began serving domestic water to a 250-square-mile area in Larimer, Weld and Boulder Counties.

We currently serve 10,000 residential and 400 non-residential business and commercial customers. Our boundaries are generally the City of Loveland on the north and Longs Peak Water District on the south. We’re roughly bounded by the City of Greeley, the South Platte and St. Vrain Rivers on the east and the foothills on the west. The District expanded to include the former Arkins Water Association in 2000 and the Town of Mead in 2002. We also serve the Barefoot Lakes Subdivision in Firestone.
